Safety at Indoor Events

HOW CAN I KEEP MYSELF AND MY LOVED ONES SAFE AT INDOOR EVENTS?

Know how to leave the building before an emergency happens. Identify more than one exit and check that the routes you may need are clear and accessible. Watch for loose cords, wet floors, unstable displays, and crowded walkways. Don’t be afraid to point out problems, and make sure to report hazards to event staff promptly.

Plan ahead: you never know if you or someone in your group will need evacuation assistance. Ask about the venue’s arrangements when you arrive. During an emergency, follow staff and responder instructions rather than assuming the entrance you used is the only way out.
