When will I receive money after a Trial result?
HOW LONG UNTIL I GET PAID?
If your Trial has recently concluded, you are probably wondering when you collect your award. The court has established the amount you are owed, but receiving the money requires additional steps.
The party that was found responsible must make payment within a certain timeline, but any new court orders or appeals will inevitably delay the collection of payment. If the other side is unsatisfied with the result, they may try a number of things to delay or reject paying you.
In the end, your final compensation depends on when the money is actually received, any liens or deductions that apply. A judgment does not create an automatic payment date, and the award amount stated in court will probably be different than the amount on your final check.
